Jury trial scheduled in Sylvan Lake stabbing

A jury trial has been scheduled for a man charged in a Sylvan Lake stabbing last year.

Brandon James Ritchie, 30, is scheduled for trial in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench from May 27-June 4, 2024.

It was on July 6, 2022, when RCMP received a report of a stabbing that had occurred on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake.

Mounties say a 21-year-old victim who had what appeared to be stab wounds, was taken to hospital in stable condition.
