Red Deer’s Ken Griffith runner-up at Alberta Men’s Senior Championship

Red Deer Golf & Country Club’s Ken Griffith finished three shots back of winning a provincial championship this week.

Griffith and a few other local golfers were competing in the Alberta Men’s Senior Championship at Glendale Golf & Country Club in Edmonton, a tournament he won in 2019.

Griffith shot a final round 76, four shots off the pace of eventual champion James Varnam (Golf Canada Club), whom Griffith was ahead of by one stroke going into the final round.

Griffith was -1 through one round, one behind Varnam and Paul Briske; then he moved up on day two into the lead. His final tournament score was two-over to Varnam’s one-under.
