Three Hills RCMP investigating fatal collision involving pedestrian

One person is dead following a highway collision involving a pedestrian on Saturday.

On July 29, 2023, at approximately 06:40 a.m., Three Hills RCMP were called to a collision between a pedestrian and vehicle on Highway 590 between Range Road 212 and Range Road 220, west of Big Valley.

Emergency services were dispatched to assist; however, the 28-year-old male succumbed to his injuries.

RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene and the cause of the collision remains under investigation. The affected stretch of highway was closed to traffic for some time while officers remained on scene.

RCMP say they extend condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
