Red Deer RCMP investigate firearms incident

The RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) is currently investigating a firearms incident in Red Deer early this morning.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., on July 31, 2023, Red Deer RCMP responded to a police incident in the Johnstone area of Red Deer.

According to Mounties, however, there is no immediate threat to the public at this time.

Police say those involved are known to each other and the incident is believed to be targeted.

RCMP say no further information will be provided at this time.

An update will be provided, however, once available.
