Blue Grass Central Spray and Play hosting community BBQ August 10

Blue Grass Sod, Nursery & Garden Centres is hosting its 10^th and final annual community BBQ at the Blue Grass Sod Farms Central Spray & Play on Aug. 10, 2023.

Blue Grass Sod, Nursery & Garden Centres, in partnership with the City of Red Deer, invites central Alberta residents to the 10^th anniversary and celebration of the Blue Grass Sod Farms Central Spray & Play with a free hot dog lunch.

Organizers say this will be the last year Blue Grass will be sponsoring, so you’re invited to come down and celebrate 10 years with them.

As a family-owned and locally-operated business, Blue Grass officials say they recognize the value in strong family ties.

“Sponsoring the Spray Park has been a wonderful way for Blue Grass to honour its grassroots and celebrate the families who have supported them for the last 50 plus years,” reads a statement from the company.

The BBQ and picnic will take place at the Blue Grass Sod Farms Central Spray & Play, located at 48 Street in downtown Red Deer, north of the Golden Circle, on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023 from 12-3p.m.

A hot dog lunch will be served from 12-1pm, followed by fun and games until 3pm. In case of inclement weather, a rainout date will be Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023.

“We can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we began our sponsorship of the spray park. We’re so thankful to be a part of this great community and are grateful for the opportunity to give back over the past 10 years,” says Bruce McEwen, owner of Blue Grass Sod Farms. “We invite you to bring your family down for an afternoon of fun. We look forward to seeing everyone there!”
