A nurse practitioner from Red Deer has been found guilty of sexual assault.

Christopher Moon Mah, 43, was found guilty of the charge in Drumheller Court of Justice on July 14, 2023. He was found not guilty, however, on a charge of extortion, while one count of criminal breach of trust was withdrawn.

Mah was convicted of the sexual assault charge last week following his trial in Drumheller Court of Justice on April 11, 2023.

Mah was initially arrested and charged with sexual assault, extortion and breach of trust on Nov. 19, 2022.

It was on July 27, 2022, when Three Hills RCMP received a complaint and initiated an investigation regarding an alleged sexual assault. The complainant reported that a Three Hills Nurse Practitioner had sexually assaulted her in exchange for prescription medication and money.

Mah’s matter returns to Drumheller Court of Justice for summary disposition on Nov. 10, 2023.
