Red Deer’s Nate Danielson signs entry-level contract with Detroit Red Wings
Red Deer-native Nate Danielson has just signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings, according to the Western Hockey League (WHL).
The NHL Club announced the signing Wednesday morning that Danielson, captain for the Brandon Wheat Kings, was the ninth-overall selection in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Danielson led the Wheat Kings in many offensive categories during the 2022-23 season including 33 goals, 45 assists, 78 points, 13 power-play goals and 38 power-play points.
The 18-year-old was named to the WHL East Division Second All-Star Team and was selected to compete at the 2023 Kubota CHL / NHL Top Prospects Game.
