UPDATE: missing elderly couple found deceased

UPDATE:

July 4, 2023, 3:59 p.m.

Red Deer RCMP have confirmed that a missing elderly couple were both located deceased on July 1 close to Highway 22 near Crowsnest Pass.

They say Southern Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took carriage of the investigation, with assistance from Crowsnest Pass and Red Deer RCMP.

On July 4, they state both deceased underwent an autopsy at the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary. They say the deaths of Beverly Lampert and Richard Vanderbroek do not appear suspicious and foul play is not suspected; however, their deaths are still under investigation.

An update will be sent when further information becomes available.

Red Deer RCMP advise that Beverly Lampert and Richard Vanderbroek have both been located deceased on July 1.

Mounties say their thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends.

June 30, 2023:

Red Deer RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing elderly couple.

They say 63-year-old Beverly Lampert and 82-year-old Richard Vanderbroek were last seen on June 21, 2023, in Red Deer.

RCMP state the couple are believed to be travelling together in a white Chevrolet Colorado.

Mounties say Lampert and Vanderbroek may have been heading to Cranbrook, British Columbia and were expected to possibly return on June 25, 2023.

Red Deer RCMP say they are concerned for the couple’s well-being and would like to speak to them, adding that both Lampert and Vanderbroek require medication that likely need to be renewed.
