Runner-up finish for Red Deer golfers at Alberta golf event in Sundre

The Alberta Golf championship season got underway Monday, May 22 at Sundre Golf Club with 50 teams of two competing in a brand new event, the Alberta Best Ball Championship.

Ryan Rutherford & Gerry MacDonald paired up to win, shooting 9-under 63.

On a calm and mostly sunny day, Ryan Rutherford from The Glencoe Golf & Country Club paired up with Gerry MacDonald from Inglewood Golf & Curling Club to shoot 9-under 63 and take the gross division championship.

Ken Griffith and Grant Lee from the Red Deer Golf & CC shot 7-under 65 for a runner-up finish.
