Some temperature records broken in central Alberta Monday
There were a few communities throughout central Alberta that saw record-breaking temperatures set on Monday, May 15, 2023.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Breton area hit a new record high of 28.4 degree Celsius for May 15, beating the old record for that date of 26.0 degrees Celsius set in 2018. Records in this area have been kept since 1939.
In the Nordegg area, a new record of 28.6 degrees Celsius for May 15 was set on Monday, beating the old record of 26.7 degrees Celsius set in 2018. Records in this area have been kept since 1915.
In the Stettler area, a new record high of 28.2 degrees Celsius was set for May 15, surpassing the previous record of 27.9 degrees Celsius set in 2018. Records in this area have been kept since 1918.
