Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit seek male charged with murder near Rocky Mountain House

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit are seeking the public’s assistance to locate a man charged with second degree murder.

On May 8, 2023, Rocky Mountain House RCMP say they responded to a report of a shooting on the O’Chiese First Nation. On arrival, they say 31-year-old Brett Roan was found deceased.

An autopsy was conducted on May 9, 2023 at the Calgary Medical Examiners officer and the death was deemed a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit confirmed they have obtained an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Boyd Beaverbones, a resident of the O’Chiese First Nation, for one count of Second Degree Murder.

Boyd Beaverbones remains at large and investigators are asking for the public’s assistance to locate him.

Boyd Beaverbones is described as:

  • 5’10” tall
  • 155 lbs
  • Black hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • Medium Complexion
  • Has a prosthetic left leg

Mounties state Boyd Beaverbones may be in the Sunchild/O’Chiese, Rocky Mountain House or Red Deer areas. They say he may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
