Stettler RCMP investigate significant fraud from local hotel

A Stettler man has been charged following a lengthy fraud investigation by RCMP over the past year.

On June 20, 2022, Stettler RCMP received a report of a significant fraud from a local hotel in Stettler. Mounties say the investigation revealed that over a period of time the suspect transferred over $160,000 from the hotel to their personal bank account.

As a result of the investigation, on April 18, 2023, RCMP arrested 43-year-old Stettler resident Michael Dandan Diongzon.

Diongzon has been charged with theft over $5000 and fraud over $5000.

Police say Diongzon was taken before a justice of the peace and released with his next court appearance set for May 11, 2023 at the Stettler Court of Justice.
