Red Deer teen suffers severe burns after seizure in shower
A 13-year-old Red Deer boy is recovering at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton after suffering severe burns in the shower.
As his mother Erin Cornell shares, Dreyden ‘Dre’ Hiscock was in the shower on April 17 when he had a seizure, something he had no history of.
On his way down, the Red Deer Minor Hockey player bumped the water dial all the way up, causing scalding hot water to fall on him for several moments.
Cornell heard a thud, but was unsure at first where it had come from, realizing seconds later she should check the bathroom.
