Red Deer rentals continue upward trend

Average rents continue to rise in Red Deer.

According to the latest Rental Report from rentals.ca, the average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Red Deer last month was $1,193 per month, up 2.7 per cent from February and 29 per cent from March 2022, placing Red Deer in 30th on the list of 35 Canadian cities included in the report.

Meanwhile, the average rent for a two-bedroom unit in Red Deer in March was $1,349 per month, up 4.9 per cent from February and 16.1 per cent from March of last year.

Elsewhere throughout Alberta, Calgary placed 26th on the list with an average rent of $1,573 per month for a one-bedroom unit, and $1,932 per month for a two-bedroom.

Lethbridge placed 29th on the list with an average rent of $1,210 per month for a one-bedroom unit, and $1,377 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Edmonton, meantime, saw lower average rents than Lethbridge and Red Deer last month, at least for one-bedroom units. According to the latest Rental Report, the average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Edmonton in March was $1,129 per month, while the average rent for a two-bedroom was $1,445 per month, placing the Alberta capital at 31st on the list.

Grande Prairie was 34th on the list, with an average rent of $1,015 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,193 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Lloydminster, AB, rounded out the list at 35th, reporting an average rent of $820 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $925 per month for a two-bedroom.

Vancouver topped the list, with an average rent of $2,743 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $3,653 for a two bedroom rental.
