Four Rebels ranked by NHL Central Scouting, Red Deer’s Nate Danielson surges

Four Red Deer Rebels have made NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings ahead of 2023 NHL Draft.

Their rankings below are among North American skaters:

Kalan Kind (F, ‘05) – 39th (43GP, 16G, 28A)

Kai Uchacz (F, ‘03) – 115th (68GP, 50G, 35A)

Matteo Fabrizi (D, ‘05) – 141st (67GP, 5G, 7A)

Hunter Mayo (D, ‘04) – 203rd (67GP, 18G, 24A)

According to the Rebels:

Lind finished his sophomore season with 44 points in 43 games and took part in the CHL NHL Top Prospects Game in January.

Uchacz led the Rebels in points with 85 and was one of only two players in the WHL to score 50 goals this season. The Okotoks native was named Central Division Player of the Year.

Fabrizi had 12 points and missed only one game during the regular season. His draft stock rose most amongst Rebels players after being listed 216th among North American Skaters on the midterm rankings.

Mayo netted 18 goals during the regular season, tied for fourth amongst all WHL defenceman. Twelve of his tallies came on the power play, tied for second most by a blue liner league wide. Mayo was second on the Rebels with a plus-24 rating.
