New anesthesiologists now practising at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre
Officials with Alberta Health Services (AHS) say the arrival of two new anesthesiologists will improve access to surgical services for patients in Red Deer and across central Alberta.
Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed and Dr. Mona Elrebigi, who are married to one another, are now practising out of the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. AHS says this brings the number of anesthesiologists working in Red Deer to 15.
“Red Deer is a special place: centrally located, not too big, not too small, with many amenities, beautiful parks and river trails, nearby lakes and majestic mountains,” says Jason Stephan, MLA for Red Deer-South. “It is great to see more physicians choosing to make Red Deer their home, serving individuals and families in our wonderful community.”
AHS says Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed received his medical training in Egypt and spent a decade working as an anesthesia specialist in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Dr. Elrebigi went to school in Egypt and most recently worked in Vermilion, Alberta.
