Bra Lounge Favourite Things Fashion Show fundraiser raises thousands for Dress for Success Central Alberta

Fundraising totals are now in from a fierce night of fashion and fundraising in support of Dress for Success Central Alberta.

Officials with The Bra Lounge in Red Deer have announced that $6,380.44 was raised during their event.

The Bra Lounge Favourite Things Fashion Show was held at Cilantro and Chive in November, a night celebrating fierce and curvy women, positive body image and the work of Dress for Success Central Alberta.

Dress For Success Central Alberta aims to empower women in the community by supporting them with professional attire and the tools they need to thrive in work and life.

Sheena Johnson from the Bra Lounge was thrilled with the collaborative effort and sends out a heartfelt thank-you.

“We are proud to support a local organization making a powerful impact on disadvantaged women in central Alberta and their families, and we couldn’t have done it without all the support we received from the community!”

Crystal Cawsey, Dress for Success Central Alberta Board Chair, says funds raised will help their organization provide essential services and programming to women on their journey towards economic independence.

“We could not do the work we do or contribute to the elevation of our clients’ personal and professional journeys, without the support of our community. We are so grateful to everyone who purchased tickets and to all the event sponsors and look forward to future collaborations that help uplift women here in central Alberta,” says Cawsey.

Johnson, meanwhile, says plans are already in the works for a 2nd annual event.
