Warmer temperatures bring an end to outdoor skating season in Ponoka
With spring temperatures melting snow and ice throughout the community, officials with the Town of Ponoka say the Outdoor Skating Rink (ODR) at the Ponoka Arena Complex is now closed for the season.
The ice skating trail at Lions Centennial Park is also no longer suitable for users and will no longer be maintained this season, add Town officials.
Public skating and shinny hockey, however, have been extended until Sunday, March 26 on the indoor ice surfaces at the Ponoka Arena Complex; after which public skating and shinny hockey at the Arena will also end for the season.
