Red Deer Fire Department hosts rooftop campout and boot drive for Muscular Dystrophy
Firefighters in Red Deer are hoping they could raise even more funds for Muscular Dystrophy this year during their rooftop campout, adding a debit option for their boot drive.
On Friday, March 17, three firefighters were transported by a ladder truck to the roof of Fire Hall 3 (100 Lees St) where they will be camping outside on their patio until Sunday, March 19 at noon.
“I’m pretty fortunate to get the opportunity to do this and come hang out with some good guys for a good cause,” said Brayden Laturnus, Firefighter-Paramedic who will be camping alongside Firefighter-Paramedics James Fischer and Marc Ryan.
In the meantime, drivers passing by the Hall on 30 St can donate to their two boot drives on Friday and Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m. Volunteers will be on the road in both directions, with one lane closed off by traffic cones, for drivers who wish to make donations.
