Red Deer RCMP respond to reports of male with a firearm

Local Mounties say charges are pending following an alleged firearms incident in south Red Deer over the weekend.

On Jan 22, 2023, at 3:44 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to a report of a male with a handgun, at the intersection of 40 Avenue and Ironside Street.

Police say they located a 38-year-old male, who was taken into custody. This matter, however, is still under investigation.

Red Deer RCMP wish to thank the public for reporting this matter and as a result of the prompt police response, the public was not at risk.
