Red Deer home sales lower in December but finish the year higher than 2021

Red Deer home sales were lower last month when compared to November and December 2021 but year-to-date figures finished slightly higher than the previous year.

According to the latest market update from the Central Alberta Realtors Association, there were 64 units sold in Red Deer last month, down from 116 units sold in November and 123 units sold in December 2021.

Year-to-date figures, however, show 1,977 units sold in Red Deer in 2022, up from 1,924 units sold in Red Deer the year before.

The average sale price in Red Deer last month was $315,213, down from $332,885 in November and $338,937 in December 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 63, up from 50 days in November, but still down from 66 days in December 2021.

For the entire central Alberta market, there were 191 units sold last month, down from 276 units sold in November and 355 units sold in December 2021.

Year-to-date numbers show 5,605 units sold in total last year, down from 6,562 units sold throughout the region in 2021.

Figures for the average sale price throughout the entire central Alberta market last month were unavailable at the time of publication, as were the average number of days to sell throughout the entire central Alberta market last month.
