Three Hills RCMP are advising of poor driving conditions in the area surrounding Three Hills.

Mounties say visibility is hampered due to thick fog, as well, the roads are reported to be very icy.

Earlier in the day, Three Hills RCMP attended a collision on Highway 21 at Highway 27.

Meteorologists with Environment and Climate Change Canada say patches of dense fog with near zero visibility will continue tonight.

Parts of southern Alberta, meanwhile, may see some improvement overnight and into Thursday. Meteorologists say central and northern Alberta will likely see areas of dense fog persist through Thursday and possibly until the end of the week.

The worst visibility is expected during the overnight and morning hours.

Officials say visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero, therefore travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

Fog advisories are issued when near zero visibilities in fog are expected or occurring.
