Trial date set for Lacombe man charged in head-on collision near Sylvan Lake

A trial date has been set for a Lacombe man charged in a head-on collision near Sylvan Lake last spring.

Cameron Elias Griffiths, 23, has been scheduled for trial on June 12, 2023.

He faces counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and obstruction.

It was on April 22, 2022 at 10:17 p.m., when Sylvan Lake RCMP received a complaint of a collision on Highway 11 and Range Road 20.

Mounties say their investigation revealed that a white Ford F150 drove into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a blue Jeep Wrangler. Police say the driver of the F150 sustained minor injuries, while the four occupants of the jeep were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
