Local home sales edge lower in November

Red Deer home sales slowed in November when compared to the month before and the same month last year.

According to the latest market report from Central Alberta Realtors Association, there were 116 units sold in Red Deer during the month of November, down from 142 units sold in October, and 124 units sold in November 2021.

However, year-to-date numbers show 1,913 units sold in Red Deer so far this year, up from 1,801 units sold to the same point in 2021.

The average sale price in Red Deer in November was $332,885, up from $320,941 in October and $329,315 in November of last year.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer in November was 50, down from 56 days in October and 63 days in November 2021.

For the entire central Alberta market, there were 276 units sold in November, down from 367 units sold in October and 384 units sold in November 2021.

Year-to-date numbers indicate 5,415 units sold so far this year, down from 6,178 units sold throughout the region to this point last year.

According to the latest market report, the average sale price throughout central Alberta last month was $284,500. That’s down from $323,515 in October and $354,349 in November 2021.

Meanwhile, the average number of days to sell a home in central Alberta last month was 63. That’s down slightly from 66 days in October and significantly from 103 days in November 2021.
