Winter arts and recreation programming registration begins December 13

Dec 6, 2022 | 10:25 AM

Red Deerians can prepare to sign up for winter arts and recreation programs next week, starting Tuesday, December 13.

Winter programs include swim lessons, preschool programs, fitness and wellness, arts and culture, and more.

New program options are viewable starting Thursday, December 8 on My Activity Guide and registration is scheduled to begin on December 13 at noon.

The City says registration for swim lessons in the winter session will look different as they transition to a new provider under the Lifesaving Society, Swim for Life program. As previously announced, the Red Cross will be retiring their swim lesson program at the end of 2022 and lessons beginning in January 2023 will be under the Lifesaving Society.

The community is being encouraged to review the swim lesson information, and about how Red Cross lessons transfer, prior to registration day at www.reddeer.ca/swim.

Red Deerians can create their own custom Activity Guide to review all winter program options by selecting categories, age groups and locations relevant to them and their families at www.reddeer.ca/MyActivityGuide. City officials say programs are viewable in the same fashion as they were in the previously produced paper guide.

The City is also encouraging locals to visit their Look’ n Book accounts prior to registration day to ensure access is up to date. For any questions regarding account access, contact Recreation at 403-309-8411.

There are three ways to register for City of Red Deer programs:

  • Online through My Activity Guide at reddeer.ca/MyActivityGuide or directly through Look ’n Book at http://looknbook.reddeer.ca
  • By phone at 403-309-8411
