Blades edge Rebels 4-3 in OT
In what was the first of four meetings this season, the Red Deer Rebels lost 4-3 in overtime to the Saskatoon Blades Friday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
Coming in, Red Deer were winners of just three of their previous 10 games, while the Blades had won seven of their last ten — all to sit just five points back of Red Deer for second spot in the Eastern Conference.
The visitors got on the board first in this one, Jayden Wiens (8th) scoring at 14:37 of the opening frame.
Jhett Larson (10th) equalized for the Rebels at 6:44 of the second, Matteo Fabrizi and Ollie Josephson assisting.
