Home sales rise in Red Deer last month

Red Deer home sales saw an increase last month when compared to the month before and the same month last year.

According to the Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 142 units sold in Red Deer last month, up from 128 units sold in September and 132 units sold in October 2021.

Year to date, 1,797 units have been sold in the city as of October 31, up from 1,677 units sold to this point last year.

The average sale price in Red Deer last month was $320,941. That compares with $341,501 in September and $338,531 in October 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 56, up from 49 days in September and 54 days in October 2021.

For the entire central Alberta market, there were 367 units sold last month, down from 407 units sold in September and 439 units sold in October 2021.

Year to date numbers indicate 5,139 units sold throughout central Alberta as of October 31. That compares with 5,794 units sold to this point last year.

The average sale price throughout central Alberta last month was $323,515. That’s down from $343,860 in September and $345,878 in October 2021.

Meanwhile, the average number of days to sell a home in central Alberta last month was 66, up from 57 days in September, but still way down from 93 days in October of last year.
