Residential plowing in Red Deer to begin next week, City says
The City of Red Deer says residential snow clearing will begin next week as crews have been removing snow from city streets after nine days of near-constant snowfall.
At this time, as Purple Routes are completed, they confirm Red Routes and Snow Zone D (Downtown) will be completed over the weekend, and residential snow clearing will start on Monday, Nov. 14.
City officials state it is early in the season for residential plowing in Red Deer compared to recent years. They say the snow fell on warm ground and created a layer of ice beneath it, which exacerbated the situation on roads.
