Conditional Sentence Order for man charged in Sylvan Lake weapons complaint
A central Alberta man charged in a Sylvan Lake weapons complaint has been given a 15-month Conditional Sentence Order (CSO) and 10-year firearms prohibition following the conclusion of his trial in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench this week.
Kole Albert Prodaniuk, 26, was also ordered to pay a total of $400 in surcharges and fined $100 after being convicted on counts of pointing a firearm (CC 87(1)), and possession of substance (under the Controlled Drug & Substances Act).
A second individual charged, Lee Michael Falsetta, 36, was sentenced in Red Deer provincial court on Jan. 20, 2022, to five days in jail and 18 months of probation. Counts of possession of a controlled substance and fail to comply with probation orders were withdrawn.
Prodaniuk was originally charged with pointing a firearm, possess a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possess property obtained by crime under $5000, two counts of possess a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, drive carelessly, and operate motor vehicle without license in possession, in the incident last year.
