Colorado low brings needed moisture but travel issues too

MEDICINE HAT — A Colorado low that dumped record amounts of snow over southwestern Alberta is moving into Manitoba this morning.

Medicine Hat missed the majority of the snow, but did receive 19.7 mm of precipitation from Friday until midnight Sunday.

But there’s travel problems in the wake of the storm.

The only issue in the Medicine Hat area is Highway 41 south, where there’s icy and slippery sections reported.

The issues are east in Saskatchewan.

The Number one from the Alberta border to Gull Lake has icy and slippery sections, but then from there to Swift Current, travel is not recommended because of heavy snow and icy sections.

The Number One is closed from Highway 19 to Chaplin, and then travel is not recommended from Caronport to Moose Jaw.

Several other highways in and out of Moose Jaw are also closed this morning.
