Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigating homicide in Red Deer

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating a homicide in Red Deer this week.

On Oct. 13, 2022, at approximately 02:33 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of an unconscious male in the area of 58 Avenue and 61 Street in Red Deer. Upon arrival, Mounties say EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

On Oct. 14, 2022 an autopsy was performed and the victim’s manner of death was determined to be a homicide.

Police say the victim has been identified as 24-year-old Brandon Robert Loughlin, a resident of Red Deer.

RCMP say no further details can be provided at this time. However, an update is expected to be provided when further information can be released.
