Central Alberta man charged in Ponoka firearms incident going to trial

A trial date has been set for one of two people charged in connection with an assault in Ponoka this spring where a gun was allegedly pointed at the victim.

Sunny Don Threefingers, 33, of Maskwacis, is scheduled for trial in Ponoka provincial court on January 13, 2023.

Threefingers is charged with assault with a weapon, mischief damage under $5000, use of firearm while committing an offense, use of imitation firearm while committing an offense, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, threats causing death bodily harm, and fail to comply with release order conditions.

It was on May 23, 2022, when Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of an assault at a residence in the Town of Ponoka.
