Free weight-management sessions offered online

Sep 22, 2022 | 1:27 PM

Local residents are invited to learn about improving eating habits and forming healthy relationships with food by attending an Alberta Health Services (AHS) weight-management program online.

The program, open to residents 18 years of age and older, is an online version of AHS’ weight-management workshops, which are offered regularly in communities across the Central Zone.

Managing Emotional Eating is a free, three-part workshop led by AHS health professionals who share their expertise and guide interactive group sessions. Participants will learn how eating habits are formed, and how triggers such as emotions, situations and events can be managed to help develop better eating habits that will last a lifetime.

Managing Emotional Eating will be held via Zoom on the following dates:

  • Oct. 5, 12 and 19: from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and 14: from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Registration is required as the dates and times are subject to change. For more information and to register to attend, please call the Alberta Healthy Living Program at
1-877-314-6997. You will receive your Zoom link when you register.
