Dawe Run is back after a two year hiatus

Sep 16, 2022 | 4:09 PM

The Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools has announced the Dawe Run will return next week.

Upwards of 5,000 students in Grades 4-12 will participate in this year’s Dawe Run, which is in its fourth decade.

Tuesday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. (heats will take place every 15 minutes with the final runners taking off at 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Ranch (6300 Cronquist Dr.)

This organized run, which Foundation officials say follows a scenic route through the river valley, promotes fitness while accommodating both the recreational and competitive runner.

The run is hosted by G.H. Dawe and St. Pat’s Schools. The run starts in the field below Heritage Ranch, along the paved path, and ends at Bower Ponds. The finish line is on the football field at Setters Place in Great Chief Park.
