Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigating discovery of body in Mountain View County

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes is investigating after the discovery of a Red Deer man’s body in Mountain View County this week.

On Sept. 12, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., Didsbury RCMP were dispatched to an oil lease road off Township Road 310, located in Mountain View County, in response to the discovery of a body by a local hunter. Officers attended the scene and confirmed the male victim was deceased.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes then took over the investigation. On Sept. 14, 2022, Mounties say an autopsy was completed by the Calgary Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and it has been confirmed that the man’s death was a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 24 -year-old Alhaji Fofanah, a resident of Red Deer. RCMP are asking anyone who may have information related to the recent activities of Alhaji Fofanah, or may have information about his death, to please contact Didsbury RCMP.
