Upgrades to tennis and pickleball courts begin in Ponoka this Week

Resurfacing of the tennis and pickleball courts at the Ponoka Aquaplex, as well as the addition of two new pickleball courts, are expected to begin this week, say Town officials.
Starting on Wednesday, September 14 (weather permitting), the tennis and pickleball courts will be temporarily closed as the resurfacing and facility upgrades get underway.
Over the summer, the Town of Ponoka consulted with local pickleball and tennis user groups to invite their input on the planned upgrades, which resulted in the decision to add two more pickleball courts at the facility.
“The upgrades to the courts, along with the two new pickleball courts, will greatly improve the user experience and provide a quality playing surface for years to come,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities. “The planned improvements will also support the continued growth of pickleball and tennis in our community,” he added.
