Red Deer RCMP seeking two suspects connected to shooting

Sep 1, 2022 | 10:23 AM

Red Deer RCMP are seeking public assistance to help identify two suspects believed to have been involved in a shooting early on Aug. 31.

RCMP say that at about 2:12 a.m. on Wednesday, they received a call from a witness reporting a male in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound at the corner of 52 Avenue and 59 Street in Riverside Meadows.

Police responded and located the victim, they say. EMS attended and took the male to Red Deer Regional Hospital for further assessment.

Early investigation suggests the victim was shot following a verbal argument with two unidentified persons, say RCMP. The RCMP General Investigation Section is now investigating and there is no concern for the safety of the general public, it’s believed.

The first suspect is described as a clean-shaven white male on a bicycle wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap and shorts.

The second suspect is described as an Indigenous female of average build with orange-coloured hair.

Red Deer RCMP are requesting anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Red Deer RCMP at 406-343-5575, or your local police.
