Preliminary hearing scheduled for man charged in Sylvan Lake stabbing

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for later this year for a man charged in a Sylvan Lake stabbing this summer.

Brandon James Ritchie, 28, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 22, 2022, to see if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.

It was on July 6, 2022, when RCMP received a report of a stabbing that had occurred on Lakeshore Drive in Sylvan Lake.

Mounties say a 21-year-old victim who had what appeared to be stab wounds, was taken to hospital in stable condition.
