Red Deer bringing in blue cart ambassadors

In 2015, the City of Red Deer launched a green cart pilot project, with black and blue carts coming in four years later.

Now, The City will welcome blue cart ambassadors who represent the Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) who will assess how households are putting their recycling skills to use.

The ambassadors, who will be looking in your blur cart, are post-secondary students hired by the RCA.

“The cart program has been in single-family homes for a few years now, and last year we provided enhanced recycling information and tools to multi-family properties in the city,” said Marilyn Moore, Waste Diversion Specialist with The City. “Now we want to assess how households are recycling to determine how we can improve our recycling programs and our service to residents.”
