Canada Summer Games Day 4: Alberta adds 10 medals

Alberta earned three gold, three silver and four bronze medals on day four (Tuesday) of the Niagara Canada Summer Games.

Team Alberta has 23 medals through four days, third best overall, plus eight gold, which is second best. behind only Ontario which has 13.

· Team Alberta’s swim team completed day four with all three colours (3 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze):

o Gold Medal:

Tanner Cole (Edmonton) 200m Breaststroke men, Connor Bissett (Edmonton) 100m Backstroke Male Special Olympics and Hunter Helberg (Fort McMurray) 100m Backstroke Para Male.

o Silver Medal: Breanna White (Sherwood Park) 100m Backstroke Para Female and in the 100m Fly Para Female, Reid Maxwell (St.Albert) 100m Fly Para Men’s

o Bronze Medal: Sienna Rodgers (Calgary) 100m Backstroke Female, Reid Maxwell (St.Albert) 100m Backstroke Para Male, Addison Butler (Irricana) 50m Fly Male, 4x100m Freestyle Relay Female.

· Baseball Record: A RBI 2013 Sherbrooke Summer Games gets broken by Eric Hartman (St.Albert)

Elsewhere…

Jacob van Geel (Calgary) and Colby Nemeth (Red Deer) hit the court today with an amazing rally against Team Manitoba serving them to a 2-1 match score in men’s beach volleyball. The team ran out of steam later in the day while facing Team British Columbia, falling short with losing 2 straight sets. Our women’s team then brought back the winning spirit by leading the way and serving Team Nova Scotia with a sweeping score of 2-0. (Credit: Team Alberta)
