Rotary Club supporting three local causes with $15,000

Rotary Club of Red Deer is dispersing $15,000 to three local organizations.

The Lending Cupboard, CentreFest and a group called Aid for Displaced Ukrainian Families will each receive $5,000, the club says.

“As our club approaches 100 years of service in 2023, our members want to create impact across Red Deer and beyond,” says President Darcy Mykytyshyn. “We have a long history of supporting many great causes locally and internationally. Our Community Service Grants continue to benefit many great community organizations. Support for these four diverse groups will make a difference to many.”

The Lending Cupboard’s allotment was recently used to upgrade IT supports which allow the non-profit to better track and distribute medical items coming in and out. In its existence, The Lending Cupboard has helped roughly 11,600 clients, and seen more than 29,000 pieces of equipment come and go.
