Traffic disruptions for road paving in Red Deer this weekend

Red Deer drivers are being advised of upcoming traffic disruptions this weekend as crews complete road paving on multiple streets in the city.

Intermittent lane closures and traffic delays are set to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the following locations and days:

• Saturday, July 23: 52 Ave. and 39 St. from 43 St. to 51 Ave.
• Sunday, July 24: Southbound 30 Ave. between Avery St. and 22 St.
• Sunday, July 24 (with possible extension into Monday, July 25): Both directions on 22 St. from 30 Ave. to Lalor Drive

The City is encouraging drivers to take alternate routes where possible. They are also being reminded to slow down when driving in construction zones and obey all signs. Pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.

Officials say all road construction is weather dependent and schedules may be subject to change.
