Red Deer home sales see slight slow down in June

Red Deer home sales saw a small decline in June when compared to the month before and June of last year.

According to the latest stats from Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 197 units sold in Red Deer in June, down from 243 units sold in May and 205 units sold in June 2021.

Year-to-Date numbers, however, show 1,184 units sold in Red Deer so far this year, up from 1,047 units sold during the first half of 2021.

The average sale price in Red Deer in June was $348,002. That’s up from $343,816 in May and $325,595 in the same month last year.

Meantime, the average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 42, the same number of days as the month before, and down from 54 days in June 2021.

For the entire central Alberta market, there were 589 units sold in June, down from 681 sold in May and 733 units sold in June 2021.

The average sale price throughout the region was $349,053 in June. That’s down from $363,944 in May, but up from $344,663 in June 2021.

The average number of days to sell a home throughout central Alberta last month was 48 days. That compares to 45 days in May and 75 days in June of last year.
