Red Deer’s Eileen Park has strong showing at Ladies Amateur Championship

A Red Deer golfer closed out the Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship this week strongly.

Eileen Park, who competes out of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club, shot a +5 77 in round one at the Canmore Golf Club, good for a tie of 12th, but a seven-stroke hole to the leader.

The 13-year-old then went -2 on day two, and +1 in the final round, ultimately finishing +4 and nine strokes back of 15-year-old champion Katherine Hao.

Park was the only central Albertan competing in the tournament, and with her 6th place finish, she qualifies to compete for Alberta’s interprovincial team.
