Fatal house fire in Red Deer under investigation

One person has died in a Red Deer house fire.

Red Deer Emergency Services (RDES) Deputy Chief Chris Kearns says a call about the fire came in at 10:45 the night of Sunday, July 3.

The fire was located at 143 Addington Drive, contained to the second floor of a single residential home. No one else was in the house at the time.

The cause remains under investigation, Kearns says, adding that the investigation has been passed into the hands of RCMP.

RCMP tell rdnewsNOW the fire is not believed to be criminal, adding that no other details will be provided.
