Red Deer man charged in drug-related investigation

A Red Deer man has been charged after a three week drug-related investigation.

On June 28, 2022, Blackfalds RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) say they executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at an address in Red Deer.

They confirm they were also assisted by the Red Deer Drug Unit and Police Dog Service, Blackfalds General Duty and Sylvan Lake GIS.

As a result of the search warrant, RCMP state the following items were seized:

• 71.3 g of Cocaine
• 28.7 g of Methamphetamine
• 200 ml of GHB
• $3090 in Canadian Currency
• Approximately 100 rounds of .22 ammunition
• Bear spray
• Eight cellphones

The 37-year-old man from Red Deer has been charged with the following:

• Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine, Methamphetamine and GHB)
• Proceeds of Crime
• Two counts of failure to comply with release order

The accused was remanded into custody and is to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on July 4, 2022.
