Community Hub Concept Plan (Town of Penhold)
a long-time vision

Penhold launches community hub development

Jun 28, 2022 | 7:00 PM

The Town of Penhold has launched development of a new community hub, south of the Penhold Regional Multiplex.

The hub will include:

  • Trail connectivity
  • Furnishings such as benches and tables
  • Common area
  • Washrooms
  • Finalized work on the Pump track/Skate park area
  • New Ball Diamond development

“We have been envisioning the community hub for many years. To see the growth of the amenities available for residents and visitors alongside the growth in Penhold as a community is very exciting,” says Mayor Mike Yargeau.

“The community hub has been designed to align with our vision to include space in Penhold enhancing the quality of life and wellbeing while providing multiple social opportunities for residents and visitors. With the expansion of trails, a common area to host events, and the addition of a second ball diamond, we expect to draw visitors from all over central Alberta.”

The development has been in the works for some time, with the addition of a multi-use all-wheel park in 2021.

The project was made possible in part by a donation by Stewart and Eileen Ford, a long-time local family, as well as a $490,000 contribution from the Government of Canada’s Canada Community Revitalization Fund.

“We are grateful to Mr. & Mrs. Ford and the Government of Canada for helping us achieve our vision,” says Yargeau.
