OH&S investigating accidental death in Ponoka

Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) is investigating after the death of a woman in Ponoka Sunday night.

On June 26, 2022, at approximately 7:09 p.m., Ponoka RCMP were dispatched to the Ponoka Stampede Grounds to assist EMS with an injured female.

RCMP confirm that a 30-year-old female was thrown off her horse and then trampled by other horses. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.

RCMP say their thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the deceased.
