Man unresponsive at the wheel during green light arrested in downtown Red Deer
A man was arrested in Red Deer this week after becoming unresponsive at the wheel and stopped at an intersection.
RCMP say it was about 4 a.m. on June 6 when they were conducting patrols in the downtown area.
A suspicious vehicle was observed, stationary at an intersection, despite a green light. A search of the plate determined it didn’t match the vehicle, and officers approached.
“Officers observed an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat and affected an arrest,” police say. “A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two firearms, one of which had been stolen from a local business in 2021, prohibited ammunition and illicit drugs.”
