HEAL a resource for common childhood ailments, injuries
Parents have a valuable resource when it comes to dealing with common childhood illnesses and injuries.
The HEAL website — www.ahs.ca/heal — is available to help parents manage illnesses and injuries that don’t require treatment in an emergency department.
Developed by a team of emergency doctors and clinicians from Alberta Children’s Hospital and Stollery Children’s Hospital, the HEAL (Health Education and Learning) website provides easily accessible, reliable information about common minor illnesses and injuries in children.
Information on croup, coughs, bronchiolitis, common colds, ear pain, nosebleeds, head injuries, vomiting and diarrhea, fever, febrile seizures and rashes is available on the site, including detailed descriptions of illnesses and injuries, symptoms, treatment, and when to seek immediate medical attention.
